5 Teams are competing in Winter Tournament Week

The Mt Aspiring College Senior A Netball team are heading off to the South Island Secondary Schools tournament in Blenheim on Saturday for a week long tournament. The girls are heading there very determined to gain a top 5 placing this year. They made it to the semi finals in the local competition here in Wanaka this year which was an excellent achievement in at very tough competition.

The Boys Senior Basketball Team are travelling to Alexandra to compete in the Zone 4 Secondary Schools Tournament, 1-3rd September, the team recently won the Wanaka Men’s B Grade Competition and finished top of the table at the Central Otago Interschool’s. The U15 Rugby Tournament Team are in Kaiapoi / Rangiora from 30th Aug – 1st September, they have been training and fund raising hard for this tournament and are looking forward to having good competitive games of rugby. The college have both U19 Boys and U19 Girls teams in the SI Secondary Schools Canoe Polo Tournament being held in QEII Pool Christchurch on the 28/29th August, these teams have had to travel to Cromwell weekly to train and are looking forward to this the first ever SI School tournament. We also have Dylan Bradley playing for Cromwell College Boys Hockey at Cromwell and Rebecca Clarke and Meg Topping playing for Cromwell College Girls Hockey at Dunedin.
